The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has etched another golden chapter in history. At 11:30 AM IST today, the LVM3 rocket successfully deployed the first module of the Bharatiya Antariksha Station (BAS) into Low Earth Orbit.
A Home in the Stars
The module, named 'Aarambh' (Beginning), serves as the core command center and living quarters for future astronauts. It is equipped with state-of-the-art life support systems developed indigenously in Bengaluru. ISRO Chief S. Somanath declared the mission a "textbook success."
The Timeline Ahead
This launch is the first of four planned missions to assemble the station by 2028. The BAS will allow India to conduct microgravity experiments in biology, material science, and physics, independent of the International Space Station.
"India is no longer just a participant in the space race; we are building the track."
Global Reactions
Space agencies around the world, including NASA and ESA, have congratulated ISRO. The success of BAS-1 strengthens India's position as a low-cost, high-reliability space power, opening doors for commercial partnerships and international collaboration.
